There it was. An American missile base, alarms blaring. It
didn’t take her long to pinpoint the source of the attack. The Nazis were
unmistakable. They hadn’t seen her yet, so she had the element of surprise on
her side.
She jumped to an overhead beam and in one leap from there,
she was able to knock out two guards. Another turned and as he raised his gun,
Captain America blocked it with his shield.
The two of them were more than a match for the Nazis. Wonder
Woman threw her lasso around the captured leader.
“My lasso compels you to tell the truth. How many more are
here?”
The man struggled, but could not resist the Lasso of Truth.
“I only know the number of members of our cell. You’ve caught all of us.”
“Who gave you your orders?”
“I don’t know his real name. His code name is N751Z29.”
Moments later, American security had the men in custody.
Wonder Woman turned to Captain America. “I didn’t know you
were operating in D.C.”
“Just for a little while.” He smiled. “I’m sure we’ll meet
again while I’m here.”
She nodded her head. “It could be fun teaming up to fight
the Nazis.” Steve! She had to get back to her date. “I have another obligation
right now. I’ll likely see you next time
Nazi trouble is brewing.”
Steve hoped Diana was still waiting for him at the restaurant. Hopefully his note
had mollified whatever anger his absence had caused.
