Campfire

One hot dog roasted over the campfire had been enough to fill Monique’s puppy tummy. She was now curled up by Angelique’s feet  fast asleep.
The warmth of the fire was starting to make Angelique feel drowsy as well. She rested her head against Randy’s shoulder. It felt so good, she wished they could stay like that forever. He slid his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer.
The mood was spoiled by the smell of something burning. Randy pulled the stick from the fire. The charred remains of a marshmallow was anything but appetizing.
Angelique smiled. “I can think of something sweeter than roasted marshmallows.” She placed her hands against his cheeks and gave him a long, slow kiss.
                “Much sweeter,” he murmured.
The bag of marshmallows was soon forgotten as they lost themselves to all but each other.
