“Angelique,
maybe it’s better if you just give up now,” Rosalia said as they made their way
to breakfast. “I still don’t understand
why you were chosen as a queen candidate.
Drop out now. Then you and Randy can live happily ever after and the
best girl will become queen.”
“Rosalia,
that’s enough.”
Both
girls turned at the sound of the voice of the queen’s assistant.
“Di -
Dia, I didn’t know you were there,” Rosalia stammered.
“Obviously
not. Remember, one of the most valuable qualities for the queen to have is
compassion.” She smiled at Angelique. “This competition is far from over.”
Rosalia
glared at Dia’s back after she left them. As if!
Randy
joined them at the dining hall. He placed a hurried kiss on Angelique’s cheek.
“Remember, lunch by the lake today.”
Angelique
smiled. She had no intention of letting Rosalia convince her to give up her
quest to become queen. And Randy believed in her. With his support, she knew
she could do anything.
